We are proud to bring you the story of Dr. Daniel and Karen Seiter of “Higher Health Chiropractic of Walker”, located in Walker, Michigan! All of us in the AMPED community wish them the best of luck.
Q. What are your roles at the practice?
A. Dr. Dan runs the practice and adjusts, Karen is a homemaker, mom to our five daughters, and coordinates hiring as well as helping when needed.
Q. How long have you been open?
A. It will be 3 years this October.
Q. How many patients do you see per week?
A. Around 400 patient visits per week.
Q. What is your focus or specialty?
A. We practice instrument adjusting with tonal analysis, Torque Release Technique and MC2. Dr Dan is also certified in Webster through ICPA, and is in the process of completing additional ICPA courses. We see primarily families, with a large percentage of our practice being pediatrics. Most of our practice growth comes from referrals, followed by health talks and health screenings.
Q. What would you like to tell us about your practice adventure?
A. Our story is unique to some and similar to others. Dr Dan was a mechanical engineer for around 6 years before getting started in chiropractic school at Life University, and we had 3 kids at the time. During 6th quarter we had identical twin daughters. We got involved in AMPED at its inception, and attended club regularly. Dr. Dan did his PEAK internship at Higher Health Chiropractic in Wymoming, MI. Upon graduation our kids were 6, 5, 3, 2 and 2 years old.
Opening a family referral-based practice was the goal, and we had ambitious goals of accomplishing high volume numbers, and implemented the JumpStart program, joining 4 chambers and networking, as well as screenings. We started with one chiropractic assistant, and Karen was in the office full time with a nanny at home, and this was the case for the first year or so. One major revelation was that having a growing family, we would have to make some adjustments to our goals, and we still have seen consistent growth in both practice member base and finances, all while keeping our focus in order – God, Family, and then Chiropractic.
At this point, we have 3 full time chiropractic assistants, 1 part time employee, and Dr. Mateo is helping with our Lunch and Learn campaign.
Q. Where can we find out more about you?
A. http://gethigherhealth.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/StandaleChiropractor/
Q. How has AMPED helped you?
A. AMPED is absolutely necessary for anyone starting a chiropractic office. Being an engineer/employee previously, it was giant leap to being an entrepreneur and employer/team leader. Chiropractic school provides clinical skills, but is completely lacking in the realm of business skills. AMPED offers an opportunity to train a highly effective team with proven systems and procedures, which are critical for any chiropractor.
Q. Do you have advice for fellow AMPED members?
A. Be consistent – We have been consistent with AMPED since it started, and have benefited from that. Also, realize that your results are a direct reflection of your efforts, and as long as you have clear goals and priorities, be ok with where you are. If you continue to do the correct and proper things, the results will be there. We chose steady growth in order to be able to focus on our daughters, but are super excited for those who see exploding growth as well.
Q. What would you say to anyone considering joining AMPED?
A. To open an office with immediate success takes tremendous effort, and AMPED has a proven system to do just that. Our practice runs at a level of excellence that makes it seem it has been open for longer than 3 short years!
