Q. What are your roles at the practice? What do you each focus on?
A. Sam adjusts our patients full time, does all our doctor’s report and group progress appointments. He is the “backbone” of our practice — and has never missed a single shift. It helps that his personality is very loving and caring, because EVERYONE LOVES DR. SAM! He also is our consistent pusher — driven by the desire to serve people in abundance and feeling a moral responsibility and calling to help every single person. Dr. Clare is our “all-around player,” with the ability to do anything needed. So, she really enjoys doing a bit of everything, including team training and management, adjusting, flow decisions, NPM touch points, HR, special appointments, and overseeing all operations. Her strength, though, is building connections both within and outside of the practice.
Q. How long have you been open?
A. 9.5 years
Q. How many patients do you see per week?
A. We are currently handling 1400-1500 visits per week.
Q. What would you share with us about your practice adventure?
A. We started out in a VERY humble 1400 sq feet office, and God allowed us to somehow see 1,100 visits/week out of that space. Four years into practice, we moved into the practice of our dreams in a building that we constructed from the ground up and own, making us landlords as well. Now in 3600 sq feet. We have seen slow and steady growth since our first day, July 16, 2012, and we are both still very committed and fulfilled.
Q. What have you learned in your journey?
A. We LOVE, love, love, love having such deep roots in our community. We feel that making the right choices of providing excellent care and service along with affordable prices has allowed our reputation to flourish – something we had hoped and prayed for but couldn’t have imagined it being as rewarding as it is. It is an honor to be loved by our community, and love our community so well. Our business is way more than just a business to us because of the thousands of people we serve. It’s real, its genuine, it matters, and its important. We have been so blessed by chiropractic.
Q. What advice do you have for other doctors?
A. Joy is found in serving (for the sake of serving) and working hard (because working hard is fun). There are so many dead professions, and we aren’t one of them! You can always choose to see the “bad” in anything, but when choosing to consider all the things that matter- chiropractic is IT!
Q. Do you have advice for new doctors in practice??
A. Remember that being in practice is a long-game. The decisions you make, the conversations you have, the prices you offer — every interaction will follow you for years to come. So think about the practice you want to have in the long-run, and make decisions to support that now. If you want to see families, you need to make it affordable!
Q. What advice do you have for students?
A. This profession will offer you an incredible future for you personally, financially, spiritually, relationally… and the list goes on. It truly is a place where you get to share truth and love and have a lasting impact and legacy for a lifetime. Do not let the day come when it becomes more about the money than serving. Dr. Sam always says, “there are a lot of people out there counting on you, a lot of them you probably haven’t met yet.”
Q. How has AMPED helped you?
A. In about every single way! AMPED has provided us with the richest friendships, an instruction manual for financial freedom, mentors who are incredibly grounded and worthy of following, and another outlet to give back and serve. Hands down was a life changing decision to join AMPED, and continues to be a life-giving choice for us and our family.
