Q. What is your role at the practice?
A. Dr. Ethan is the solo doc (looking to hire!) His primary focus is adjusting, doctor touch points and group orientations, reviewing x-rays and handling office finances.
Hannah is the Office Manager. She manages the team, does team training and team meetings, back office management, and overseeing care plans and patient financials.
Q. How long have you been open?
A. We just celebrated 3 years in May, 2022!
Q. How many patients do you have?
A. We are averaging 500 visits per week.
Q. What would you share with us about your practice adventure?
A. We have had a bit of a crazy ride since opening our doors. We opened in May of 2019, got robbed two weeks later, found out we were pregnant with our first child 5 months after opening, COVID hit 5 months after that, our child was born 4 months later and we bought a house and moved 5 months after that. Owning our own practice has been a crazy ride. We have had our fair share of ups and downs but God has continued to be so sovereign through it all. Though being a business owner has its challenges, the good has always outweighed the bad.
Q. What have you learned in your journey?
A. We have learned to work hard, to do the things we know how to do, control the controllables and give the rest to the Lord. We have learned to trust the AMPED procedures and to trust the process because practice has ebbs and flows and everyday will not be a walk in the park. We have learned to work together as a married couple, to manage a team (one of the hardest parts of the job) and grow in our leadership skills. We have learned that we had no business ownership skills and for that reason we were and continue to be so thankful for AMPED.
Q. What advice do you have for new doctors?
A. Put in the work and the time early on. Screen as much as you can, do every health talk, meet the people of your community and really put yourself out there. The opening process can bring a set of challenges, set backs, and new experiences. Make sure to focus on the wins, keep pushing forward, and reach out to those who have gone before you and have already done what you would like to accomplish. Make sure you have a solid support group and never hesitate to reach out, chances are someone in this group has experienced the same thing you are going through. Make sure you are celebrating your wins! Be grateful for where you are at, the health breakthroughs you have been a part of, and every life that has been changed through chiropractic care! Starting from ground zero can be hard but every life changed is worth the work!
Q. What advice do you have for students?
A. We are here to tell you that the AMPED procedures work phenomenally to grow a successful practice as long as you are willing to put in the work. Utilize all that AMPED has to offer, reach out when you need support and utilize the community because sometimes business ownership can feel like being on an island and AMPED is a phenomenal support group! Make sure as a student you are getting plugged in, and gain as much knowledge and experience as you can because it will only benefit you. There is no better time than as a student to visit offices, screen for other docs and see the real time flow of an office because once you open your doors, you will no longer have the time to shadow and learn from other in office experiences. AMPED is an awesome group of people that want to see you succeed and we are here to help if you are willing to reach out!
Q. How has AMPED helped you?
A. AMPED has given us very clear direction on how to grow a successful practice and we would not be where we are today without AMPED. It has given us the support group we need, friends who 100% understand what we are going through, and like minded people who want to see the profession of Chiropractic grow.
Q. What would you say to people considering joining AMPED?
A. 100% do it! I was listening to a financial advisor who said the difference between chiropractors who make it and those who don’t is a solid marketing plan. AMPED is going to give you all you need to open your business and market to your community. Financial success aside, AMPED teaches you how to grow a practice that changes the lives of your community. You get to make an impact on the lives of many and see people gain hope for the first time in their lives. AMPED has helped us get started, has given us a support group throughout the journey and kept us going when we feel discouraged. AMPED is more than just the jumpstart program, it is an amazing community of people who love chiropractic and want to do all they can to help chiropractic grow so more people can experience the truest form of healthcare out there!
Q. What is your website?
A. https://www.tovchiropractic.com
Q. Thanks so much! Is there anything else you’d like to add?
A. AMPED works. Whether you are in a community of 50,000 or 500,000 you can bring chiropractic and change the lives of those you serve. Work hard, utilize what AMPED has to offer, apply the procedures and NEVER hesitate to reach out. When we first opened we had a rocky first couple of weeks. We got on a call with an AMPED member that changed everything and we are so thankful for this group.
