AMPED Member Focus: Dr. Blayne and Taylor Baker

Dr. Blayne Baker & Team
We are proud to bring you the story of Dr. Blayne and Taylor Baker of Atlas Chiropractic in Fishers, IN. All of us in the AMPED community wish Dr. Blayne, Taylor and their team continued success!

Q. What is your role at the practice?

A. Hello! My name is Dr. Blayne Baker and I am the solo doc at Atlas Chiropractic in Fishers (north side of Indianapolis), Indiana. My wife Taylor is the Office Manager and Co-owner of Atlas Chiropractic.  She manages the team. I focus on adjusting, x-rays, PDRs, and finances. Taylor focuses on team trainings, payroll, managing team and all CA related things.

Q. How long have you been open?

A. I opened in April of 2018. So, I have been in practice almost 4.5 years now.

Q. How many patients do you have?

A.  We are averaging 500 visits per week

Q. What would you share with us about your practice adventure?

A. I graduated from Palmer Florida in September 2017 and immediately began putting together a business plan to begin working on securing financing and always knew right away that I would have my own business. Upon graduation I joined AMPED, and it has been a great experience!  So, we opened our doors with around 50 appointments scheduled and grew to about 100 visits per week within our first few months. Over the next 12 months we grew to 200 visits per week. Every year since then we have grown around 100 more visits per week, each year. We are a TRT office that utilizes some Webster for our pregnant moms and babies.

Q. What have you learned in your journey?

A.  Always having had a business mindset, I studied economics (and philosophy) for my bachelor’s degree. I did not realize I was to become a chiropractor until chiropractic resolved my allergies that I had grown up with! I took my business plan to 1 single bank and was approved for a $150,000 business loan. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help doing the same (students and new docs!)

I currently see about 500 visits per week as a solo doc — although we are looking for a hungry, young, high-energy doc to join our team and serve the masses in what is one of the top 5 places to raise a family in the U.S. according to U.S. News and World Report (Fishers, IN). My team consists of Taylor (my wife), Rachel, Bella, and Brandon. My wife manages the team. Rachel has been with us for close to 3 years, she started as a PM and hasn’t needed her migraine meds for several years now. Brandon started as a PM as well and has done much better with IBS and migraines as well. He has been with us for about a year. Bella has been with us for about 2 years now! We have the absolute dream team!! Also, Bella will be attending chiropractic school after she gets her bachelor’s degree!

Q. What advice do you have for new doctors?

A.  My advice to new doctors: get the fundamentals down … public speaking, AMPED systems and procedures, a working team office manual, learn to lead and manage a team, if you can’t manage your personal finances, you can’t manage a business whose team relies on you to maintain a healthy, profitable business! Visualize the office that you want.

Q. What advice do you have for students?

A. For students: I never had the opportunity to shadow or work in offices much as many who are in student clubs have the opportunity to. That’s to say, it is never too late and you’re here at a great time and it is NOT too late!

Q. What is your website?

A.  https://atlaschiroindiana.com
